St Vincent de Paul group
Here at St Charles Church in Rishton we have a Conference of Society of St Vincent de Paul where we hope to give some help to those in need in our Parish.
Please help and support those involved in the society and pray for those who they try to help.
From time to time there will be a collection to help the funds of the society in order to help those in need so could we ask you to please give generously to these appeals. Recently we have been collecting food to pass on to those in need in the parish and we ask you to bring any food into church and we will take it up to the altar with the Offertory Gifts. Father will then give it out to those in need who call.
At Mass each weekend we take up to the altar with the gifts of bread and wine all the food that has been donated during the week. And then on Monday morning we deliver it to Our Food Bank to help those in need and then it is distributed by the staff to the needy in the area. If you can spare any food please bring it in to church on a Saturday or Sunday and we will take it to help this worthy cause.
If you feel that you may be able to help by joining the St Vincent de Paul Society please contact Colin Yates. We hold a meeting in the chapel every two weeks which we aim to last about 30 minutes and everything it kept confidential, we plan who we are to visit before the next meeting.
